ABOUT Victor Rendón, Wilson “Chembo” Corniel, & Yasuyo Kimura

Victor Rendón, Wilson “Chembo” Corniel, and Yasuyo Kimura have worked together extensively for the past 20 years. Performances and recordings include the Chembo Corniel Quintet, as well as many performances and three CD releases with Victor’s Bronx Conexión Latin Jazz Big Band. 

Performances include the Johnny Pacheco Jazz & Latin Festival, Hartford Jazz Festival, and an eight-year residency at the Nuyorican Poets Café in NYC. The group has also conducted clinics at KOSA NYC, PAS New York Chapter, PAS New Jersey Chapter, and Lehman College. The group has done various online instructional videos for LP Music Group. The Art of Playing Congas/Tumbadoras, by Chembo & Victor and the The Art of Playing Timbales by Victor will be available at PASIC 2024.
