ABOUT Pat Petrillo & Scott Johnson

Featured on the cover of February 2023 issue of Modern Drummer Magazine, Innervision Recording Artist Pat Petrillo is world renowned in the drum industry. He has backed and/or recorded with a wide array of artists from many genres, including Patti LaBelle, Gloria Gaynor, Oz Noy, Chieli Minucci, Debbie Gibson, Glen Burtnik and for numerous Broadway shows, including A Chorus LineGreaseFootlooseNewsies, and Dreamgirls. He currently leads his killer group, the Big Rhythm Band, performing in New York City and throughout the East Coast. On their record, The Power Station Sessions, the band produces 9 groove-packed tracks, featuring guest artists Nile Rodgers, John Popper, Oz Noy, Lenny Pickett and Felicia Collins. His recent radio single, “Glide In My Stride”, has charted on Smooth Jazz Network, and his new record, recorded at Sunset Sound in Hollywood, will be released in 2025. As a popular clinician and educator, he taught for many years at the famed Drummers Collective in New York City, and has presented clinic performances at PASIC, Musicians Institute, Berklee College of Music and many drum shops around the globe. He has appeared numerous times on the popular Drumeo.com site, and has numerous instructional videos with Hudson Music. Scott just finished year 45 with the Blue Devils Drum and Bugle Corps. Personal awards include twenty-one D.C.I. Gold medal championships, fourteen D.C.I. High Percussion titles, two W.G.I. gold medal championships, three DCA gold medal championships, two DCA High Percussion titles, ten DCE championships, nine DCE High Percussion titles, 12 High Percussion titles in Japan, and 1977 D.C.I. & 1978 P.A.S. Individual Snare champion. Scott is very honored to have been inducted into the 2012 class of the DCI Hall Of Fame, and the 2012 WGI Hall Of Fame. Scott was also inducted into the 2015 World Drum Corp Hall Of Fame. 

Although the primary focus of his teaching career has been in the Drum Corps idiom, Scott has taught privately and arranged percussion scores at the elementary, junior, senior high, and university levels. Scott’s judging assignments have included numerous marching band and percussion competitions throughout the world, including P.A.S. championships, W.G.I. championships, South African Championships, Indonesia Championships, and the Bands of America Grand National Championships. 

Scott is one of the most sought after Marching Percussion clinicians in the world today. He has held numerous percussion clinics throughout the United States, Japan, Canada, Belgium, Germany, Holland, Scotland, South Africa, South Korea, Indonesia, Guatemala, Costa Rica, Australia, China, and Italy.
