APPLY FOR THE PASIC MOCK AUDITION!


Presented each year at PASIC, the Mock Audition is a valuable opportunity to learn from renowned symphonic percussionists from around the world.


The Process

The Mock Audition is open to all college-aged students. Applicants will be required to submit a preliminary video that is recorded in one continuous, unedited take. From there, semi-finalists will be chosen to participate LIVE at PASIC 2024.

Participation Details

PAS Membership

All applicants must be current members of the Percussive Arts Society through November 30, 2024. Participating students can join PAS, or renew their membership here.

All applicants must be registered to attend PASIC 2024 in order to apply for the Mock Audition. Applicants can register for PASIC 2024 here.

All applicants will be required to submit a preliminary video consisting of the following repertoire:

Timpani

  • Mozart – Symphony No. 39
    • 1st movement: Opening Adagio through measure 21
  • Beethoven – Symphony No. 9
    • 1st movement: Measure 513 to end (Coda)
  • Tchaikovsky – Symphony No. 4
    • 1st movement: Ben sostenuto (7th bar after rehearsal R) to bar before rehearsal V
  • Hindemith – Symphonic Metamorphosis
    • 2nd movement: Letter S to T, and two measures before Letter Z to end
  • Applicants will submit a preliminary video that is recorded in one continuous, unedited take by September 15, 2024.
  • Semi-finalists will be selected to participate in the LIVE Mock Audition at PASIC 2024 on Thursday, November 14, 2024.
