TROMP Percussion Laureates’ Concert

Percussion Ensemble
Daytime Showcase ConcertLive

This concert presents a dynamic and dramaturgically conceived program performed by three internationally awarded percussion soloists, exploring the expressive breadth of percussion from classical lyricism to contemporary sonic and theatrical innovation. In addition to ensemble works, the performers will also present solo performances, allowing each artist to showcase their own distinctive musical personality and artistic voice. The repertoire spans diverse musical worlds, including the radical rhythmic and spatial language of Iannis Xenakis, the refined color and atmosphere of Claude Debussy, and some new transcription works. Through these contrasting aesthetics, the program highlights how percussion can embody both structural power and subtle emotional nuance. Beyond pure sound, the performance may also incorporate elements of theatrical movement and physical gesture, treating the performer’s body as an integral part of musical expression. By integrating rhythm, timbre, space, and visual presence, the trio seeks to create a concert experience that goes beyond the traditional recital format and approaches percussion as a form of musical theater. Through this program, the ensemble aims to demonstrate the artistic diversity of the new generation of percussionists and to share with the PASIC audience a vivid portrait of contemporary percussion performance shaped by European, Asian, and cross-disciplinary influences.
