
Quey Percussion Duo (Gene Koshinski and Tim Broscious)
For over 20 years, Quey Percussion Duo has dazzled audiences worldwide with their unmistakable style that blends traditions of contemporary, cross-cultural, classical, and popular music to create colorful sound worlds that often place focus on interlocking counterpoint and musical multi-tasking. Their presentations have a reputation for elevating the basic acts of striking, shaking, and scraping into a blast of energy, a splash of curiosity, with a pinch of whimsy. Their curiosity and dedication to lifelong scholarship has led to decades of immersive study in global music making, a characteristic that permeates their distinct voice.
QPD (Gene Koshinski/Tim Broscious) has performed across the globe in 14 countries and 4 continents and has worked with music festivals, art galleries, chamber music series’, professional orchestras, tv/film, and have engaged in more than 200 university residencies worldwide. Through their focus on creating high-level video content, their digital audience has climbed to over 4 million viewers and counting. Their broad digital footprint has led to collaborations with artists and organizations around the world, most recently providing music for Lululemon’s “Glow Up” ad campaign.
Their commissions and original works have set the standard for percussion duo literature today and they have recorded for the Innova, Naxos, Centaur, Equilibrium, and Neuma record labels. They also hold the only full-time residency by a percussion duo in the US at the University of Delaware. QPD is endorsed by Pearl/Adams Instruments, Sabian Cymbals, Vic Firth Sticks and Mallets, and Remo Drumheads.

“Next New Thing”
Session Description:
Our showcase concert will feature some of the newest projects we have been working on, including several world premieres. The cornerstone to the program will be the unveiling of the digital playback version of Gene Koshinski’s massive double percussion concerto “soniChroma.” This 25-minute work is dynamic, colorful, and fills the stage with its over 80 percussion instruments! We couldn’t think of a more perfect place than PASIC 2025 to showcase our “next new thing.” We have so much in store, so come check it out!
