Pedro Fernandez
Pedro Fernandez holds positions as a percussionist with the Indianapolis and the Chautauqua Symphony Orchestras, he has held similar titles with the Cincinnati Symphony and the Houston Ballet Orchestra. Pedro has performed with the Philadelphia Orchestra, Los Angeles Philharmonic, Pittsburgh, Detroit, Houston, and Columbus Symphonies among others; and internationally with the National Symphonies of Costa Rica and his native Panama.
In the chamber scene, Pedro has performed at Middle Tennessee State University, Butler University, Southwest Minnesota State University and the Alfredo de Saint-Malo Festival in Panama City with the collective Sticks and Hammers. He has also appeared in the Perspective Series of the Texas Music Festival, Resident Chamber Series at the Chautauqua Music Festival, the Frost Chamber Players at Festival Miami, and Aperio-Music of the Americas in Houston and. As a soloist, Pedro has played recitals for National Broadcast in Panama and concerti with the National Symphony of Panama.
Pedro is Chair of Percussion for the Chautauqua School of Music Summer Festival. He has been on faculty at Ball State University in Muncie, IN and Lone Star College-Montgomery in Texas. He has presented classes and clinics at Indiana University, CCM, PASIC, Wright State University, Conservatorio de Música del Estado de México, among many others.
