Jesus Sanchez
Jesus Sanchez is an active performer and educator specializing in the marching arts and drum set. He currently serves as Percussion Caption Head for the Phantom Regiment Drum and Bugle Corps (2023–Present), Assistant Ensemble Coordinator for RCC Indoor Percussion (2025–Present), and Battery Coordinator for the Arcadia High School World Class Percussion Ensemble (2024–Present). His past teaching experience includes The Troopers (2013–2017), Vanguard Cadets (2018–2019), Music City Drum Corps (2022–2023), and Pulse Percussion (2022–2024). In addition to teaching, Jesus performs with the Disneyland Band in Anaheim, California. He holds a Bachelor of Music from California State University, Fullerton, and a Master of Music from the University of Southern California. He is currently completing his Doctorate of Musical Arts at USC, where he serves as an Assistant Lecturer for Drum Set Proficiency courses. He resides in the Los Angeles area.

In this session, I will share the tuning schemes and techniques I use, as well as the underlying philosophy that informs my approach. Participants will gain insight into the decision-making process behind shaping an ensemble’s sound and leave with practical tools to explore and develop their own unique sonic identity.
