An exceptional ensemble of world-class percussionists, all teachers at the Paris Conservatory-CRR, brought together for the highly anticipated PASIC 2025.
Led by Frédéric Macarez, Jacques Delécluse’s student, former principal timpanist of the Orchestre de Paris and Director of Percussion Studies at the Paris Conservatory-CRR, the group comprises four masters of their craft.
Beside Macarez:
– Emmanuel Curt, a Jacques Delécluse’s student, principal percussionist of the Orchestre National de France and the Philharmonia Orchestra
– Franck Dentresangle, a Frédéric Macarez’s student, a jazz vibraphone virtuoso and composer specializing in Brazilian and jazz music, merges his diverse musical expertise with his teaching time in Paris and Nancy
– Vitier Vivas, a Frédéric Macarez’s student, originally from Caracas, Venezuela, draws from his extensive international orchestral career including collaborations with some of the world's most renowned conductors.

Frederic Macarez & Friends : a new life for Jacques Delecluse’s snare drum etudes
Session Description:
Frederic Macarez & Friends” is a percussion ensemble created exclusively for PASIC 2025 to honor the legacy of Jacques Delécluse. They will present a reimagined version of Delécluse’s iconic “Douze Etudes pour Caisse Claire,” transforming these technical études into concert works for snare drum and percussion ensemble.
The group’s deep connection to Delécluse makes this a true celebration of his influence. Frédéric Macarez and Emmanuel Curt were mentored by Delécluse, while Franck Dentresangle and Vitier Vivas studied under Macarez, forming a direct lineage of his artistry.
This premiere, with arrangements by Franck Dentresangle, showcases the musicality of these études, elevating them as masterpieces. Prepare for a groundbreaking performance that celebrates the genius of Jacques Delécluse like never before.
