Colorado State University
The Percussion Ensemble at Colorado State University under the direction of Eric Hollenbeck and Shilo Stroman is a diverse and innovative program that has set high standards in percussion performance. The ensemble performs works from the established percussion ensemble repertoire, although primarily focusing on original commissioned works and works written within the last 5 years for 4 to 5 players. The CSU Percussion ensemble shares spaces with the CSU World Percussion ensemble, which contain a variety of world ensembles, such as Steel Band and Brazilian ensemble. The ensemble has performed with many extraordinary percussionists such as Anders Astrand, Bob Becker, Kevin Bobo, Thomas Burritt, Mark Ford, Susan Powell, Eric Sammut, She-E Wu, and others. The ensemble was featured at the PASIC New Music Literature session in 2010, winner of the 2019 Call for Tapes, and the 2nd place finisher at the 2025 PASIC Percussion Ensemble Chamber Festival.
