The Percussion Ensemble of BAK Middle School of the Arts is under the direction of Director of Bands, Julie “Chris”tine Murray and our Percussion Director, Dr. Ronald F. Hughes, Jr. The BAK Bands have a long standing history of Superior and Gold Ratings at District and National Music Festivals. The BAK percussionists are all enrolled in either the Intermediate, Concert or Advanced Band classes as well as a Chamber Music Class where they all rehearse and learn skills and music together. Several of our percussionists also play in one of our very active Jazz Bands. Dr Hughes also conducts a “PULSE” concert each Spring that includes our BAK Middle School of the Arts and A.W Dreyfoos High School of the Arts Percussionists. The BAK Percussion Ensemble was the 2017 Middle School PASIC winner as well. We are thrilled to be performing at the 2025 50th Anniversary PASIC Convention this year!
