In “Percussion Works by Women, for Women”, the audience will witness a cohesive program of 6 existing solo works written by entirely female composers, alongside a brand-new premiere for Marimba+Vibraphone duo by Kama Omori, proudly sponsored and commissioned by Edition Svitzer. The goal of this concert is to allow 13 women, composers and performers alike, to have the chance to share their voice on one of the most respected international stages. The program will consist of “Boomslang” by Rosanne Eetezady, “Mørkeblå” by Adrianna Kubica-Cypek, “Marimba D'Amore” by Keiko Abe, “Blue Line” by Marta Ptaszyńska, and “Château de La Napoule” by Ana Krstajić, a brand new work for snare drum solo by Lorena Navarro, along with the brand-new work by Kana Omori. As we all were, or still are, young female artists looking for our way in the world of percussion, this concert is something that would have completely changed our lives to see as we attended PASIC in the past- we can’t wait to bring this idea to life, and to create both inspiration and global collaboration. We hope not only to inspire any young female percussionists attending PASIC, but also provide an opportunity for any artist to find pieces that can help them to create a more representative program in the future.
