In this session, Bill will break down his "Extreme Hands Makeover" process that he uses to raise players from young raw material to the world-class level. Along with demonstrations of the pedagogy, the clinic will feature many action-packed solos, duets, and ensembles performed on snares, tenors, and even some rope drums. All of the performers joining Bill will be students who started studying with him when they were in middle or high school and went on to perform in world-class ensembles, many of whom are now full-time professionals. The session will even include a quadline comprised of former students who recently aged out of the Santa Clara Vanguard Drum & Bugle Corps. Bill's Extreme Hands Makeover is packed with many fresh angles of attack on timeless fundamentals that are presented in an easily digestible way. Attendees should leave with fresh ideas and strategies on how to accelerate progression with their own and their students' hands, while also being inspired by some high-level performances.
