PASIC CODE OF CONDUCT

Our Commitment

The Percussive Arts Society is committed to providing a safe, inclusive, respectful, and harassment-free environment for everyone at PASIC. This Code of Conduct applies to all attendees, artists, presenters, exhibitors, sponsors, volunteers, staff, and guests across all PASIC-related spaces and events, both in person and online.

Expected Behavior

All participants are expected to:

  • Treat others with respect, courtesy, and professionalism
  • Engage in constructive, inclusive, and respectful dialogue
  • Be mindful that PASIC includes participants of all ages and backgrounds
  • Follow event policies, venue rules, and applicable laws
  • Comply with requests from PAS staff, volunteers, or security

Unacceptable Behavior

The following behaviors are not tolerated:

  • Harassment, discrimination, or intimidation of any kind
  • Unwelcome sexual attention or inappropriate physical contact
  • Verbal abuse, threats, bullying, stalking, or sustained disruption
  • Offensive, derogatory, or demeaning language, gestures, or imagery
  • Retaliation against anyone reporting a concern
  • Excessive intoxication or behavior that compromises safety
  • Unauthorized recording or photography where prohibited
  • Damage to property, theft, or unsafe conduct

This policy applies in all PASIC venues, including session rooms, exhibit halls, performance spaces, social events, hotels, and affiliated off-site events.

Reporting Concerns

If you experience or witness behavior that violates this Code of Conduct, please report it as soon as possible by finding one of the following people:

  • PAS Staff Member
  • A designated PASIC leadership representative
  • On-site security

Reports will be handled promptly, respectfully, and as confidentially as possible.

Enforcement

PAS reserves the right to take appropriate action in response to violations, including:

  • Verbal warning
  • Removal from a session or event
  • Revocation of PASIC credentials without refund
  • Removal from PASIC venues
  • Ban from future PAS or PASIC events
  • Referral to venue security or local authorities when necessary

All enforcement decisions are made at the discretion of PAS leadership and event management.

Anti-Retaliation

Retaliation against anyone who reports a concern or participates in an investigation is strictly prohibited and will be treated as a separate violation of this policy.

Acknowledgement

By registering for or participating in PASIC, you agree to comply with this Code of Conduct. Failure to do so may result in removal from the event without refund.
