Dr. Arin Levy, (they/them) is a percussionist based in Denver, active in the field of sound meditation. Playing over 50 performances each year around the nation, Arin enjoys touring and sharing the sounds of gongs and other meditative instruments with as many people as possible. Pre-Pandemic, Dr. Levy’s career focused on performing and teaching percussion at all levels, including roles at The University of Alabama, Eastern Kentucky University, and Carmel High School (IN). Arin has since shifted to practicing sonic meditations through their self-led business, Enso Sounds & Healing Arts, which focuses on mindful listening through sound baths, movement, and meditation. Although no longer active in academia, education remains a staple in Arin’s life, with a focus on teaching sonic meditation techniques. With influences like Pauline Oliveros, Levy views music as healing and a space for reflection. Music, like laughter, can be the best medicine.
