Marimbists Pius Cheung and Eriko Daimo, with their unique talents, offer deeply insightful performances of consequential music that captivate audiences worldwide. Their extensive history of collaborations with Michael Udow and Michael’s decades of touring with Keiko Abe are a testament to their musical prowess. Pius, Eriko, and Michael, drawing from Abe-sensei’s legacy as a performer, composer, and educator, infuse their performances with a rare blend of humanity, wisdom, and passion for marimba. 

Eriko Daimo is known for her “mesmerizing combination of sound and sight” (Irish Times). The award-winning marimbist Eriko Daimon’s performances include concerto performances with RTE Ireland National Symphony Orchestra, Tampere Philharmonic in Finland, Sofia Philharmonic Orchestra in Bulgaria, Nagoya Philharmonic Orchestra, Osaka Symphony Orchestra, Magdeburg Philharmonic Orchestra in Germany, Vietnam National Symphony Orchestra, New Bedford Symphony Orchestra, Opole Philharmonic Orchestra in Poland, Tokyo Kosei Wind Orchestra, and recital tours to over 25 countries. Ms. Daimo endorses Marimba One, Zildjian, and Innovative Percussion, which produces her signature series of mallets. As an educator, she is on the faculty of The Juilliard School pre-college division, Kyoto City University of Arts, and teaches at New York University Steinhardt.
