SESSION TITLE: African Rhythm, Groove And Improvisation

Adewale Simeon Adeyemi, popularly known as Wale Adeyemi, studied music at the Lagos State University and has been performing for three decades. He is one of the most sought after musicians in Nigeria. “Wale” is not just a drummer, as he creates beautiful rhythms and sounds through his virtuosity each time he plays with a band or in solo performances. He is also a songwriter, composer and astute producer. Suffice it to state that his rhythmic foundation actually began when he was only 4 years old. He has been privileged to share the stage with musicians like Adlan Cruz, Onyeka Owenu, Hugh Masekela and others. Wale is also a music educator. He is active in the local and international scene, teaching in pioneer institutions like the Creative Music Academy, Rhythm and Groove Academy and others. He continues inspiring and impacting a new generation of drummers through his teaching platform, Creative Drummers Academy. Wale Adeyemi endorses Yamaha Drums, Zildjian Cymbals, Innovative Percussion Sticks and Ahead Armor Cases. He is happily married to his number one fan and “Cheerleader” Bamike Oba. They are blessed with three sons. Wale is part of the AFRO4 Superband as he continues his musical journey.
