ABOUT South Grand Prairie High School Percussion Ensemble

SESSION TITLE: South Grand Prairie High School

The South Grand Prairie High School Percussion Ensemble has had a long history of success. They have received consistently superior ratings at the Texas State Solo and Ensemble Competition in the solo and ensemble categories. The ensemble has won numerous percussion awards at many of their marching competitions, most recently at the Midlothian Classic, earning Best Percussion in 2023. The percussion students have also competed for their ALL-State Auditions, earning six spots in the all-region bands this past January, and one earning an ALL-State Percussion spot who performed at the Texas Music Educators Convention this past February with the ALL-State Philharmonic Orchestra. In the last three years, the South Grand Prairie High School Band has been awarded the Mark of Excellence as a National Winner (2021,22,23).
