Rick Mattingly’s arrangement of “Soul Sacrifice” by rock group Santana is both a solid transcription and an effective way to teach Latin percussion instruments to younger students. The bongo, conga, timbale, and guiro parts are comprised of simple patterns that repeat virtually all the way through the piece.
