While the first book in the Sequential Studies for Four-Mallet Marimba focused on the very beginnings of utilizing four-mallet technique with double vertical and single independent strokes, and the second volume focused on rolling and chorale playing, the third volume moves to more advanced techniques utilizing double and triple lateral strokes as well as combinations of the two.
