As someone who invests the majority of his creative energy in contemporary works and transcriptions for the vibraphone, I was eager to pick Masters of the Vibes apart and howl cries of indignation as my little non-jazz corner of the vibraphone world was once again trampled under the giant steps (pun intended) of the jazzers who continue to dominate the instrument’s discourse.
