This beginning percussion septet features each player and highlights some small theatrics in search of a pair of finger cymbals. Following a four-bar introduction that ends with the players shouting, “Where’s the cymbal?,” the first half of the work consists of eight-measure solos for the woodblock, bass drum, and snare drum.
