With “Grooves and Diversions for Percussion Quartet,” Lewis & Clark College composer Dr. Michael Johanson has contributed to percussion ensemble repertoire a piece that has all of the workings of an instant classic, bringing to mind the Colgrass “Percussion Music” and “Ku-Ka-Ilimoku” by Christopher Rouse.
