In this unaccompanied three-mallet marimba solo, the performer holds two mallets in the left hand and a single “rattle” mallet in the right hand (it is suggested in prefatory remarks that a possible rattle mallet selection might be the Emil Richards Rattle Mallet from Mike Balter).
