Welcome Statement:
Welcome to the newest edition of the PAS Educator’s Companion! We are excited to offer this resource to music educators everywhere. This issue focuses on snare drum basics and the percussion classroom. In the following pages, you’ll find articles from prominent educators covering tips for creating a homogenous percussion class in your program, ideas for developing a wider dynamic range, and a complete warm up routine for the classroom setting. Additionally, you’ll find a “From the Archives” reprint and a bibliography of related resources that can be found in Percussive Notes, the journal of the Percussive Arts Society.
