Richard C. Gipson retired in 2022 following a career at the University of Oklahoma (1976–2002) as Regents Professor of Percussion and several administrative positions of note, and at TCU, first as Director and Professor in the School of Music (2002–18), then as Dean of the College of Fine Arts (2018-2022).
