The PASIC Drum Circle Facilitation Workshop, taking place on November 11, 2026, is a four-hour immersive and hands-on session focused on teaching the foundations of drum circle facilitation. Led by Jeni Swerdlow, a master facilitator and registered art therapist with over 25 years of experience, the workshop is designed for drummers of all levels, music educators, and anyone interested in global rhythm traditions. Participants will learn how to engage and guide groups, build connection through rhythm, and adapt drumming experiences to diverse populations and settings. The workshop emphasizes inclusive, responsive facilitation techniques and creative group expression. Registration opens September 1 with a $50 fee, and no PASIC registration is required to attend.

The PASIC Drum Circle Facilitation Workshop is an immersive, hands-on workshop that introduces the foundations of drum circle facilitation through four hours of experiential learning, practice, and play. Designed for drummers of all experience levels, participants will explore how to confidently engage and guide groups, build connection through rhythm, and adapt drum circle experiences for a variety of populations, settings, and objectives.
The Drum Circle Facilitation Workshop will be held on Wed., Nov. 11, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. in Room 205 at the Indiana Convention Center in Indianapolis, Ind. Registration is required and opens September 1. There is a $50 registration fee, and a limited number of spots will be available. PASIC registration is not required to register for the workshop.
This year’s workshop will be led by Jeni Swerdlow, MA, ATR, a master facilitator, trainer, performer, and Registered Art Therapist with over 25 years of experience designing and leading rhythm-based experiences that foster connection, communication, wellbeing, and creativity. She is the Founder and Chief Rhythm Activator of DRUMMM® Rhythmic Events, a nationally respected organization delivering interactive drumming and rhythm programs across corporate, educational, healthcare, nonprofit, and community settings. A Remo-endorsed Drum Circle Facilitator and Village Music Circles Global Trainer, Jeni is deeply committed to facilitator training and mentorship. Her art therapy background informs a responsive, inclusive approach emphasizing group process, creative expression, and accessibility for non-musicians.
The workshop is designed for music educators, percussion students and professionals, community drummers, and anyone interested in global rhythm traditions.
The workshop includes foundational drum circle facilitation techniques for engaging groups, hands-on practice with accessible rhythm activities and games, how to listen, observe, and respond to a group in real time, key considerations for adapting drum circle experiences to different populations, settings, and abilities, and practical guidance for taking the next steps as a facilitator. No experience necessary; just bring your hands and energy!
