This article emphasizes the importance of providing all students, including percussionists, with the same musical education in a heterogeneous classroom. It addresses common misconceptions that educators may have about teaching percussionists and suggests ways to include them in discussions about musical concepts typically associated with wind instruments. By involving percussionists in conversations about embouchure, air support, articulation, tone quality, intonation, and melodic development, educators can create a more inclusive learning environment and enhance the overall musical development of all students.
