Creative Independence

Session Description:

A series of simple yet fundamental designs will be demonstrated (accompanied by visual support) which demystify independence and encourage interplay between the limbs in a way that beat combination and pattern books fail to address. This approach emphasizes musicality at its core rather than sheer difficulty or virtuosity, and can develop over time into an individual approach for building grooves, solos, and a sound palette. In much the same way that we practice to even up our two hands into one voice, we learn to think in terms of four limbs instead of hands then feet. Four limbs, endless sound possibilities, one voice.
