ABOUT The University of South Carolina Percussion Ensemble
SESSION TITLE: University of South Carolina
The University of South Carolina Percussion Ensemble is committed to performing canonic music from the classic percussion ensemble repertoire, newly commissioned music, and cutting-edge works. The group primarily focuses on music for smaller forces and chamber percussion works. Over the past two decades the USC Percussion Ensemble has hosted many guest artists including Mark Ford, Michael Burritt, Keith Aleo, Anders Åstrand, Susan Powell, Joseph Krygier, Frederic Macarez, Andy Harnsberger, Andrea Venet. PASIC 2024 represents the third time the USC Percussion Ensemble has been featured as a winner of the International Percussion Ensemble Competition. Previous showcase concerts included PASIC 2012 in Austin, TX and PASIC 2021 in Indianapolis, IN. The USC Percussion Ensemble has been featured twice at the Southeastern Percussion Ensemble Symposium at Lassiter High School in 2017 and at Walton High School in 2024.
