ABOUT Jon Singer

SESSION TITLE: Xylophoning in the Kitchen: A Celebration of 100 Years of Green Lessons

As the leader of the Brooklyn-based novelty band, Xylopholks, Dr. Jonathan Singer has performed across the United States, India, Japan, Brazil, and Canada as well as on the stages of Alice Tully Hall, City Center, 92nd Y, and the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Singer has held faculty positions at Queensborough Community College, Brooklyn College, Queens College, and the College of Staten Island. Singer has organized workshops and taught xylophone performance and improvisation at the University of Delaware Xylophone Institute, CUNY Graduate Center’s Xylophest, Marimba Madness in Dallas, and NYU’s Xylophone Now. 

In addition to activities as a performer and educator, he founded and operates Third Floor Bazaar, the only independent drum and percussion shop in Brooklyn, New York. Singer endorses whatever works for you and having a good time doing it.
