For more than 35 years, the Yamaha Young Performing Artist Program has helped launch the careers of many highly successful musicians and music educators. If you know or have students (ages 18-22) studying in the U.S. who rise above the rest when it comes to musical performance, they should know about this unique competition and program. The 2025 competition application is open!
“This weekend was one of the most inspirational and eye-opening events of my life. It was such an honor and privilege to be included on this roster of winners and to be associated with such an incredible company and program. I would urge any young musician to record and apply for this competition,” said 2024 YYPA Winner Dylan Johnson.
Many competitions offer a one-time cash prize. The YYPA Competition offers a future – the winners are invited to attend an all-expense paid weekend as part of the Music for All™ Summer Symposium. Through this experience, winners receive a once-in-a-lifetime performance opportunity in front of thousands of students, national press coverage, are honored at an awards ceremony, receive a recording and photos of their live performance, and participate in professional workshops and clinics designed to launch a professional music career. The 2025 winners will join more than 300 other talented musicians who have earned the distinction since the program’s inception.
The deadline for the 2025 YYPA Competition has been extended to Wednesday, January 15, 2025 at midnight eastern time! Please encourage students, colleagues, and friends to apply for this once in a lifetime opportunity.
