Percussionist Victor Rendón formed the Conexión Latin-Jazz Big Band in 2012 at Lehman College, where he also teaches. The 20-piece band draws on the traditions of large Latin big bands by luminaries including Tito Puente, Machito, and Tito Rodriguez.
